BEER AND WINE GARDEN SET TO OPEN IN FORT WORTH'S RIVER DISTRICT, OFFERING BURGERS AND 'BUILD-YOUR-OWN' CHARCUTERIE SHOP

A new beer garden and restaurant, created by the son and wife of longtime Congresswoman Kay Granger, is set to open in Fort Worth's River District this fall.

Crystal Springs Hideaway is a "laid-back Texas beer and wine garden featuring over 25 draft beers, burgers, cocktails and a unique wine, cheese and charcuterie shop," according to a press release announcing the restaurant's opening.

The restaurant will be located inside a 100-year-old bungalow with a stone carriage house and water tower, according to the release. The building will have several large TVs to show games and a small stage for live music on the weekends, the release states.

“Over the years, I feel like our beloved Fort Worth joints have faded away," JD Granger said in the release. "I immediately knew this is the kind of place people miss and want to hang out at... It will be an affordable place to enjoy drinks with friends and grab a bite to eat,”

Crystal Springs Hideaway will also be the new home of Big Kat Burgers, a popular food truck currently located in Fort Worth's South Main neighborhood.

"It allows us to expand our mission to bring the food that we love so much to even more people,” owner Mike Sugg said.

The menu will feature Big Kat's award-winning burgers hand-cut fries plus new items such as salads, appetizers and other sandwiches.

The property will also be home to a cheese and wine shop with a "build-your-own" board option. Chef Kelly Burton, Kitchen Manager at popular Fort Worth Italian joint Nonna Tata will curate the wine shop.
