FALL FEST EXCITEMENT BUILDS AS ‘REVAMPED’ MUNCHIE MAP RELEASED

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – It’s that time of year again. A new Munchie Map means the Fall Festival is just around the corner. That also means fest goers like Darla Utley will be marking their maps, setting their sights on their Fall Fest favorites.

“Oh my goodness, for sure the pork parfait, definitely,” says Utley. “Love the corn dogs from certain booths. Fudge, got to have the fudge. And I’ve kind of gotten hooked on the bread puddings!”

Utley and Nancy Chandler have made the Fall Fest a family tradition for decades. “We have to,” says Utley. “My year’s not complete unless I’ve gone to the fall festival.” Chandler adds, “The food and the entertainment. Can’t beat entertainment or the food, absolutely.”

What to expect during this year’s West Side Nut Club Fall Festival

One hundred thirty-seven food booths are listed on this year’s map. Fall Fest publicity chair Brandon McClish says there are no newcomers for 2024, as the booths on West Franklin will be run by Fall Fest veterans.

“Volunteerism is always difficult for a lot of these booths,” explains McClish, “so to know that these booths are getting the volunteers, even though they are struggling because booths have numerous people that are volunteering at 5, 6, 7 different booths, we’re very excited to be able to say we have a lot of the same people coming back.”

As in years past, the Munchie Map will tell you where to go and what food you’ll find. But this year it’s about more than just the food itself. “The first aid is on there, we’ve added the fifth half pot booth, says McClish. “Restrooms are located on there as well, the snuggle station, everything we can put on the munchie map, we’re going to.”

The Fall Festival runs from October 7-12. Eyewitness News will be set up along West Franklin throughout the week.
