The Paramount+ spy thriller series Lioness has added three new cast members for its upcoming Season 2, set to premiere Oct. 27. According to Deadline, Max Martini, Kirk Acevedo and Patricia De Leon will be in Season 2 as recurring characters. Lioness, created by Taylor Sheridan, who also created the Yellowstone, 1923, 1883 and Tulsa King and several other Paramount+ shows, stars Zoe Saldaña, who also serves as executive producer.
Most recently, Martini was seen in The Tender Bar, directed by George Clooney and was the lead in Eli, a Netflix feature film. He was also in the independent film The Channel and will be seen in the upcoming Osiris with Brianna Hildebrand.

Acevedo is well-known as Joseph D. Toye in the TV miniseries Band of Brothers and portrayed José Ramse in SyFyâs 12 Monkeys series. He also was a series regular on Oz, Fringe, Arrow and Prime Suspect and appeared in the films The Thin Red Line and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
De Leonâs most recent work was as a recurring character on Mayans M.C. She also had a recurring role on Station 19 on ABC and Maxâs Genera+ion. Her film work included a role with Matthew Lillard and Abigail Spencer in One Heart and Centurion: The Dancing Stallion with Billy Zane.
Lioness is inspired by a real-life U.S. military program and focuses on Saldanaâs character, Joe, who tries to balance professional and personal aspects of her life while working for the CIA and its war on terror. Earlier this year, Genesis Rodrigues was announced as a cast member and will play Captain Josephina Carrillo, a dedicated soldier with a fierce personality.
Season 2 is set to premiere on Paramount+ with two episodes. Last year, the seriesâ first episode became the most-watched series premiere of all time on Paramount+ with nearly 6 million viewers. Filming for Lioness is currently underway in Texas. The show is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios for Paramount+.

series regulars include Nicole Kidman, who is also an executive producer, Laysla De Olivera, Genesis Rodrigues, Michael Kelly and Morgan Freeman. The show was previously called Special Ops: Lioness. The show has an 80% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.7/10 score on IMDb.
Season 2 of Lioness does not have a release date at this time, but the first season is currently available for streaming on Paramount+.
